Carbopol® BioSense polymer is the result of over five years of joint research and innovation between Lubrizol and Suzano, the world’s largest pulp producer and a global leader in manufacturing bioproducts derived from eucalyptus. This partnership combines the complementary strengths of both companies to deliver a solution that sets new standards in the cosmetics industry.
Lubrizol brought its expertise in developing rheology modifiers and its deep understanding of the cosmetic Market’s needs. Suzano contributed its robust production and forestry infrastructure, deep knowledge of eucalyptus biomass, and extensive experience in the development of cellulosic biomaterials.

Carbopol® BioSense polymer is a modified cellulose gum, natural and biodegradable, that addresses the 12 principles of green chemistry. It is sourced from certified forests that uphold ethical practices, ensuring environmental, social, and economic responsibility. With over 98% natural origin content and certification from COSMOS/ECOCERT—one of the leading international standards for natural and organic cosmetics—the new biopolymer meets the highest sustainability standards.
